I calculated that changing the fork offset to 1 inch
from stock around 2.5 inches would create a trail
of 4.6 inches and with my 4 inch lowering struts
(already raked at 38 deg because of them) I would
have a total rake of about 44 degrees. The bike would
drop only less then 2 inches in the front, but I found
I have to basically keep the stock offset, or the top
tree will hit the tank and I like the stock tank. I
mean people buy custom tanks that look just like the
stock savage tank!! I guess we're lucky that way!
Anyway, since i have to keep the offset at 2.5
inches, the bike will drop more like 2.5 inches in
the front. I didn't want to lower the front, but
since I already lowered the back, it should be okay.
The trail will still be good with the raked trees
and I believe handling will actually improve especially
with the longer wheelbase on straights. I wish I
could get some freetime to make them already!! I'm
real busy with my son and it's been hard. People
are also begging me for forward controls which I
need to make this Saturday.
